‘Soleil!’
Solo Show, Secteur Privé, Space 4, Beirut
“Soleil!” is an ongoing series that began in 2023, centering on sunlight as a metaphor for hope and renewal during a time of political and social uncertainty. The paintings depict ordinary yet sacred moments set within a mystical realm that weaves together elements of the Middle East, North Africa, and Europe. Through scenes of sunlight, flora, and prayer, Hassan evokes joy and peace, inviting viewers to cherish simple pleasures. Symbols such as doves, fig trees, and Arabian grandmothers populate these works, while windows serve as portals to other worlds. The series is a celebration of beauty and resilience, inviting viewers to experience uplifting scenes through brightly coloured, immersive compositions that inspire to heal and unite. Hassan’s works will be accompanied by a series of drawings that are inspired by moments and scenes in everyday life.
